The Arizona Bar Foundation is looking forward to hosting the 2025 National High School Mock Trial Championship in the vibrant heart of Downtown Phoenix! This dynamic city, known for its stunning desert landscapes and lively downtown scene, will be the perfect backdrop for this year’s competition.
The Hyatt Regency Downtown Phoenix will be the heart of the event, hosting many events and providing a central location for participants. We highly recommend staying at this hotel to be close to the competition and enjoy the conveniences it offers. Teams are expected to stay at the Hyatt Regency.

We have blocked enough rooms for all teams and coaches to stay at the Hyatt Regency Downtown Phoenix, the central hub for the 2025 National High School Mock Trial Championship. This hotel will host many competition events including the awards celebration, scrimmage rooms, team check-in, orientations, and more. It is also conveniently located to the other event venues. All teams are expected to stay at the Hyatt Regency Downtown Phoenix. The deadline for reserving a blocked room is April 21, 2025. Airport
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) is the primary airport serving the Phoenix area. It services all major and most other domestic airlines, and it is about a 10-minute drive from the airport to the Hyatt Regency Downtown. Mesa Gateway Airport (AZA) also serves the Phoenix metropolitan area with flights from Allegiant and Sun Country Airlines. It is located approximately 30 miles from Downtown Phoenix and is served by various ground transportation options.Rental Cars
The Rental Car Center is located within its own building near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. The PHX Sky Train provides free transportation from each terminal to the Rental Car Center. Trains arrive and depart every three to five minutes 24 hours a day. Look for the PHX Sky Train signage inside the airport terminal. Rideshare services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. The following providers pickup and dropoff at PHX: Look for signage inside the airport terminals for the curbside pickup location for rideshare services. In addition, Waymo offers pickup and dropoff service at the 24th Street and 44th Street PHX Sky Train Stations. Look for the PHX Sky Train signage inside the airport terminals. Please note that Waymo provides driverless, autonomous rideshare service.Taxi and Shuttle Services:
Traditional taxi service is available at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport through AAA/Yellow Cab, Mayflower Cab, and VIP Taxi. The flat rate to downtown Phoenix, including the Hyatt Regency Hotel, is $17 regardless of the company, number of passengers, and number of bags (size of vehicle permitting). Look for Taxi Stand signage inside the airport terminals. Pre-arranged shuttle or car service also is available, with options for vans, SUVs, and town cars. Options for providers can be located here. Look for Shuttle Service signage in the airport terminals for pickup locations.Light Rail Service:
Valley Metro Rail offers an inexpensive, convenient option for ground transportation from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport to the Hyatt Regency Hotel. From the airport terminal, passengers can take the free PHX Sky Train to the 44th Street and Washington Street Valley Metro Light Rail Station. The PHX Sky Train arrives and departs every three to five minutes 24 hours per day. Look for the PHX Sky Train signage inside the airport terminals. From the 44th Street and Washington Street station, take the westbound train to the 3rd Street and Washington Street station, which is about 800 feet from the Hyatt Regency Hotel. It is about a 13-minute ride from the 44th Street and Washington Street station to the 3rd Street and Washington Street station. Use the 3rd Street and Jefferson Street station to return to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. The 3rd Street and Jefferson Street station is about ⅓ of a mile from the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Take the eastbound train to the 44th Street and Washington Street station, which is about a 13-minute ride. Light rail service is available from 4:40 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Sundays. Light rail trains run about every 15 minutes from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays, and about every 20 minutes at all other times. The light rail fare is $2 for a one-way ride or $4 for an all-day pass. Riders can use Smart Fare through the Valley Metro App, which allows riders to pay as they go without exceeding the daily, weekly, or monthly maximum fares. A one-ride cash fare option also is available at fare machines at light rail stations.Parking
Parking is available at the Hyatt Regency Downtown Phoenix for a daily fee. The hotel features both valet and self-parking options. If you have downtime during the Championship, stop by the Greater Phoenix Visitor Center, located at 400 E Van Buren St. on the 6th floor of the Arizona Center, or view their guide. We also encourage teams to visit the Maricopa County Justice Museum & Learning Center, which is centered around a restored early-1900’s cellblock on the sixth floor of the Old Courthouse. The museum is free and open to the public during regular court hours. Visitors learn about Maricopa County’s and Arizona’s rich legal history, including important cases such as Miranda v. Arizona and In re Gault, and the legal career of Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, the first woman to serve on the United States Supreme Court.Venue Maps
